A sisyphean project can be approached with exhaustion, ironic

 removal or irrational exhuberance. A sisyphean cultural activity

 is one which is executed with expectation of  future audience, but

 the engine which propels is uniquely internal. Such enthusiasms

contitute heretical but fundamental drives within contemporary life.

The Enthusiast is the will to believe the hype.
